How to Compare Photos (Side By Side)
Some suggestions on sharing photos with the other family or on the Sister Far list is to share lots of photos. You can never tell which photo will be the “one” that is the clincher for you. I have found that snapshots, not studio portraits, are best. Compare photos that are focused clearly, Costumes, hats, sunglasses, etc are cute but can be a barrier to seeing facial features. Include profile shots and poses that are “typical” of your daughter. My daughter has a distinctive “head tilt” in many photos. That was useful for us. When comparing photos of two children, whole body photos can show similar body types.Once you’ve exchanged photos, ask friends and family members to look. Ask a trusted teacher or daycare provider for their opinion. Give them unlabeled photos and ask them who the children are. Ask the children to guess who is who. Also useful is a “side by side” collage. Here’s the instructions on how to do this.
